Deans Tigers U12s played Whalley Range Lightning on Saturday morning, aiming to build on a great performance last week.
We started really well, with a great touch and left foot finish by Joshua into the bottom corner, followed by an own goal from one of his crosses.
Whalley Range got one back, but a brilliant free kick from Hugo restored our two goal lead going into half time.
In the second half the opposition grew in confidence, bringing themselves level before Hugo scored his second to make it 4-3 to us. But they weren't done and took a 6-4 lead over us after we made some basic mistakes at crucial times.
Another own goal from some good attacking play made it 6-5 to end a frustrating match for the Tigers, where it felts like we'd done the hard work and thrown it away.
Man of the Match this week went to Oliver, who had a tough match in defence against a good opponent but never stopped battling and competing, leading by example.
